Setup video coming soonThe written steps below cover everything.
Set it up
- Place the insert in the potThe flat plate rests on the ledge inside the pot. The soil cone hangs down into the tank.
- Add soil and your plantFill the cone and the plate with regular potting mix, then plant as usual. Press the soil down gently so it touches the cone walls.
- Fit the fill tubePress the tube's plug into the round hole in the plate. It should stand straight up.
- Fill the tankPour water into the tube until a little runs out of the overflow hole near the bottom of the pot. That means the tank is full.
- Water from the top onceGive the soil a normal watering the first time, so the soil in the cone starts out damp and begins carrying water up.
Refill and care
- Check the tank every few daysEvery plant drinks at its own pace. At first, look often, and you'll learn how long a fill lasts for your plant and room.
- Refill through the tubeTop up until water runs from the overflow hole again. Don't pour onto the soil.
- Going away?Fill the tank right before you leave. Try a few days at home first so you know how your plant behaves.
- Clean it now and thenRinse the pot and insert with warm water and mild soap. Keep them out of the dishwasher, since heat can warp PETG.
